The title of the article is a bit misleading - the artist Martina Kolle will continue to paint on canvas and create analogue paintings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does the digital world offer an analog painter?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is not an exaggeration to say that Martine Kolle will find both an artistic and a scientific background in your family. The painter Helmut Kolle and the art historian Prof. Heinz Braune-Krickau on the one hand and the Kolle dynasty of medical professors represent these two poles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is a master class student of Professor Markus L\u00fcpertz, who has been accompanying her artistic path for many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the analogue, Martina Kolle has long since found her own language in constant further development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The digital space, however, is artistically untapped in many areas and offers opportunities not only to go new ways, but also to define them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a first project we accompany Martina Kolle on her way to sound out the possibilities of virtual reality and NFTs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virtual reality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

VR has 2 aspects for the artist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the one hand, he can present his works authentically in VR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No other medium can depict art as authentically as VR can. Only real experience is better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, VR also offers the possibility of creating art of a very own genre:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While painters in the last few centuries have always developed sophisticated processes to capture the three-dimensionality of the world on a two-dimensional canvas, VR now offers the possibility of painting in all three dimensions for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new world opens up not only for the painter: this changes everything for the viewer too:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The viewer becomes a wanderer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead of looking at a work from the outside, the work forms the environment - the sensitive context - in which the art-experiencer moves himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone who experiences this for the first time will not forget the fascination of this experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So: how can the artist use the new possibilities of VR?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many VR apps that are interesting for artists. One of the most impressive is certainly Tiltbrush from Google.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here the artist actually stands in the middle of his work, painting and designing around himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
